Environment:  bathypelagic; marine; depth range 0 - 1000 m, oceanodromous
Distribution:  Subtropical convergence species in all oceans.
Diagnosis:  Dorsal spines (total): 0-0; Dorsal soft rays (total): 11-13; Anal spines: 0-0; Anal soft rays: 21-24
Biology:  Oceanic and mesopelagic, found between 425-1000 m during the day and from 0-175 m at night.
