Diagnosis:  Dorsal soft rays (total): 8-9; Anal soft rays: 7-9. Darkly pigmented (mottled flanks) than congeners in the adjacent basins. Caudal fin abbreviate, nearly always shorter than the caudal peduncle (Ref. 49525).
