Max. size:  12.6 cm TL (male/unsexed)
Environment:  benthopelagic; freshwater; depth range 2 - 25 m
Distribution:  Africa: Endemic to Lake Malawi.
Diagnosis:   
Biology:  Occurs in all kinds of habitats but rarely encountered over open sand. Found mostly in intermediate biotopes and pure rocky areas. The species is a notorious fin-biter and scale-eater (Ref. 5595).
