Max. size:  17.5 cm SL (male/unsexed)
Environment:  bathypelagic; marine; depth range 0 - 1500 m
Distribution:  Western Pacific: between 128° and 178°E.
Diagnosis:  Dorsal soft rays (total): 25-25; Anal soft rays: 39-39; Vertebrae: 68-68. A single terminal bulb 0.7-1.3% SL. Barbel length 47=53% SL. Short terminal filaments 3-6; 1 filament thicker and longer than others; all filaments simple or forked and lacking bulblets. Axis of stem pigmented ; no spot at the base of the bulb. No external pigment spots proximal to bulb. External chevron-shaped or roundish striated areas unpigmented. Middorsal paired spots between occiput and dorsal-fin origin 7 - 9(?) (Ref. 11333).
