Environment:  benthopelagic; freshwater
Distribution:  North America: Lake Waccamaw, Columbus County in North Carolina, USA.
Diagnosis:   
Biology:  Inhabits shallow, sandy areas of lake (Ref. 5723). Eggs are found clustered on underside of stone and guarded by males (Ref. 7043).

Threat to humans:  harmless
