Family:  Percidae (Perches), subfamily: Etheostomatinae
Max. size:  6.6 cm TL (male/unsexed)
Environment:  benthopelagic; freshwater
Distribution:  North America: found in Colorado, Guadalupe and Nueces River drainages in Texas, USA; and in Pecos River system in New Mexico, USA.
Diagnosis:   
Biology:  Adults occur in gravel and rubble riffles, especially spring-fed and vegetated riffles, of headwaters, creeks and small rivers (Ref. 5723). Eggs are found attached to the substrate unguarded (Ref. 7043).
