Max. size:  8.3 cm SL (male/unsexed)
Environment:  demersal; freshwater; brackish; marine, amphidromous
Distribution:  North to South America: Atlantic drainage between South Carolina, USA and to French Guiana.
Diagnosis:  Dorsal spines (total): 6-6; Dorsal soft rays (total): 9-9; Anal spines: 0-0; Anal soft rays: 9-9
Biology:  Encountered in fresh water as well as in hyper-saline environments (Ref. 13628). Benthic and hides between rocks or undergrowth during the day. Carnivorous, feeds on fish and crustaceans (Ref. 36880).
