Family:  Cyprinidae (Minnows or carps), subfamily: Smiliogastrinae
Max. size:  5.5 cm TL (male/unsexed)
Environment:  benthopelagic; freshwater
Distribution:  Asia: Malay Peninsula, Borneo, Sumatra (Indonesia), and Singapore (Ref. 85309). Found in the Mekong basin (Ref. 26580).
Diagnosis:   
Biology:  Inhabits undisturbed, shaded streams in swamp-forest, with flowing acidic water. An omnivorous and gregarious species which frequents the lower and middle levels (Ref. 85309).
