Environment:  benthopelagic; brackish; marine, amphidromous
Distribution:  Indian Ocean: India, Sri Lanka and Pakistan. Reported occurrences in Indonesia (particularly from Sumatra and west Borneo) cannot be verified (Sasaki, pers. comm.).
Diagnosis:   
Biology:  Found in coastal waters and estuaries (Ref. 4833). Important food fish.
