Environment:  pelagic-oceanic; marine; depth range 183 - 914 m
Distribution:  Indo-Pacific. Northeast Pacific: British Columbia, Canada to southern California, USA (Ref. 265). Southeast Pacific: Chile (Ref. 9068).
Diagnosis:  Dorsal spines (total): 0-0; Dorsal soft rays (total): 6-6; Anal spines: 0-0; Anal soft rays: 23-26; Vertebrae: 38-40. Branchiostegal rays: 9-10.
Biology:  Mesopelagic at 400-650 m (Ref. 58302). Usually found 360 m or more beneath the surface (Ref. 4525). Oviparous, with planktonic eggs and larvae (Ref. 35838). Minimum depth from Ref. 58018.
