Family:  Cichlidae (Cichlids), subfamily: Pseudocrenilabrinae
Max. size:  7.7 cm SL (male/unsexed)
Environment:  benthopelagic; freshwater; depth range 2 - 10 m
Distribution:  Africa: Endemic to Lake Malawi. Occurs in Nkhata Bay and Chirombo Point.
Diagnosis:   
Biology:  Occurs in the more rocky areas of this biotope. Feeds mainly on plankton (Ref. 5595).
IUCN Red List Status: Least Concern (LC); Date assessed: 22 June 2018 Ref. (130435)
Threat to humans:  harmless
