Environment:  benthopelagic; freshwater
Distribution:  Asia: Lake Baikal, most numerous in southern part of the lake, Maloye Morye Strait and Selenga River delta.
Diagnosis:  Anal soft rays: 20-22; Vertebrae: 38-40
Biology:  Feeds on mesoplankton, young Cottocomephorus and benthic amphipods (Ref. 51998). Lives deeper than 10-400 m during feeding (Ref. 51998).
