Environment:  bathypelagic; marine; depth range 823 - 1738 m
Distribution:  Southeast Atlantic and Indian Ocean: ranging to the southern coasts of Australia. Widespread below the warm temperate belt of the southern hemisphere.
Diagnosis:  Dorsal spines (total): 2-2; Dorsal soft rays (total): 119; Anal spines: 0-0; Anal soft rays: 110
Biology:  A benthic species found on the continental slope (Ref. 75154). Attains a length of more than 60 cm.
