Family:  Callichthyidae (Callichthyid armored catfishes), subfamily: Corydoradinae
Max. size:  4.73 cm SL (male/unsexed)
Environment:  demersal; freshwater
Distribution:  South America: Brazil.
Diagnosis:  Dorsal spines (total): 1-1; Dorsal soft rays (total): 6-8; Anal spines: 0-0; Anal soft rays: 8-10. Differentiated in having serrations of posterior borders of pectoral spine restricted to proximal half of spine, and parapophyses of fourth free vertebra reduced, separated from each other, and not fused into haemal arch (Ref. 46825).
Biology:  Diurnal, found singly or in pairs (Ref. 46825).
