Distribution:  Europe: Lakes Derwentwater and Bassenthwaite (Cumbria) in England; Castle Loch and Mill Loch near Lochmaben in Scotland, United Kingdom.
Diagnosis:   
Biology:  A lacustrine species which occurs in open water. Gregarious, forming shoals. Feeds mainly on crustaceans (Entomostraca), supplemented by small insects. Spawns on gravel or stone shores (Ref. 59043).
