Family:  Tetraodontidae (Puffers), subfamily: Tetraodontinae
Max. size:  25 cm TL (male/unsexed)
Environment:  demersal; brackish; marine; depth range - 20 m
Distribution:  Eastern Indian Ocean: southern Australia, from Western Australia to New South Wales, including Tasmania.
Diagnosis:   
Biology:  Usually observed in estuaries to about 20 m (Ref. 9002). Nocturnal (Ref. 9002).

Threat to humans:  harmless
