Environment:  demersal; marine; depth range - 30 m
Distribution:  Southeast Atlantic: South Africa.
Diagnosis:  Dorsal spines (total): 38-41; Dorsal soft rays (total): 2-3; Anal spines: 2-2; Anal soft rays: 27-29. Uniform red, brown or orange in color (Ref. 5496). Scales absent (Ref. 94100).
Biology:  Occurs in subtidal areas down to 30 m.
IUCN Red List Status: Least Concern (LC); Date assessed: 03 May 2010 Ref. (130435)
Threat to humans:  harmless
