Max. size:  6.28 cm SL (male/unsexed)
Environment:  reef-associated; marine; depth range 37 - 46 m
Distribution:  Eastern Central Pacific: known only from Tauma Bank, American Samoa.
Diagnosis:  Dorsal spines (total): 11-11; Dorsal soft rays (total): 9-9; Anal spines: 3-3; Anal soft rays: 9-9; Vertebrae: 25-25. This species is distinguished by the following characters: D XI,9; A III,9; pectoral fin rays 15; sixth dorsal spine longest; interspinous membranes of dorsal fin of males higher than spine tips; pelvic fin of male very long, 2.65-2.85 in SL; rounded caudal fin; lateral line scales 17+6; median predorsal scales 5; cheek with 1 horizontal row of scales (Ref. 41654).
