Environment:  demersal; marine; depth range - 150 m
Distribution:  Western Indian Ocean: Sodwana Bay to East London, South Africa.
Diagnosis:  Dorsal spines (total): 11-11; Dorsal soft rays (total): 10-10; Anal spines: 3-3; Anal soft rays: 9-9. Red and yellow lines across naked bony interorbital.
Biology:  Feeds on crustaceans, mollusks, worms and small fish. Sold fresh in markets.

Threat to humans:  harmless
