Family:  Mochokidae (Squeakers or upside-down catfishes), subfamily: Chiloglanidinae
Max. size:  9 cm SL (male/unsexed)
Environment:  benthopelagic; freshwater
Distribution:  Africa: described from the Luvua drainage (upper Congo River basin) in Democratic Republic of the Congo, which is the actual type locality, instead of the Lukuga as stated in the original description (Ref. 78218). Also reported from the Rusizi (Ref. 87863) and the middle Congo basin (Ref. 78218, 106245) including Wagenia Falls (Ref. 106245) in DRC, the upper Kwango (middle Congo River basin) in Angola (Ref. 11970) and affluents of Lake Tanganyika (Ref. 78218) in DRC and Tanzania. Furthermore collected in the upper Lualaba and Sankuru basin (Ref. 12818). According to Ref. 78218 only the types can with certainty be identified as this species, awaiting revision.
Diagnosis:   
Biology:  Inhabits rocky shores of lake and rapid stony stretches of streams (Ref. 4967). Oviparous (Ref. 205).
