Family:  Chaunacidae (Sea toads o coffinfishes)
Max. size:  22 cm SL (male/unsexed)
Environment:  bathydemersal; marine; depth range 50 - 450 m
Distribution:  Southwest Pacific: endemic to Australia.
Diagnosis:   
Biology:  A benthic species (Ref. 75154) which inhabits muddy bottoms of the continental shelf and upper slope (Ref. 9563).
IUCN Red List Status: Least Concern (LC); Date assessed: 12 August 2019 Ref. (130435)
Threat to humans:  harmless
