Environment:  bathydemersal; marine; depth range 140 - 1649 m
Distribution:  Southeast Pacific and Southwest Atlantic: Patagonian region of Chile and Argentina. Records from South Africa and New Zealand are erroneous (Ref. 34024).
Diagnosis:  Dorsal spines (total): 0-0; Dorsal soft rays (total): 100; Anal spines: 0-0; Anal soft rays: 70. Body uniformly dark brown with ventral parts of head and trunk pale. Pelvic fins pale brown, remaining fins dark brown (Ref. 27363).
Biology:  Uncommon species (Ref. 34024).
