Max. size:  19 cm SL (male/unsexed)
Environment:  reef-associated; marine; depth range 30 - 168 m
Distribution:  Eastern Central Pacific: Hawaii.
Diagnosis:   
Biology:  Benthopelagic (Ref. 58302). Reported to have been encountered it most often in pairs, one individual usually being much larger than the other; appears to be among the deepest ranging of the subgenus Trochocopus, collected at depths of 67 to 238 m, but apparently preferring depths of 100-120 m (Ref. 75973). Oviparous, distinct pairing during breeding (Ref. 205).
