Bathyclarias atribranchus (Greenwood, 1961)

Environment:  demersal; freshwater,
Distribution:  Africa: endemic to Lake Malawi (Nyasa).
Diagnosis:   
Biology:  Inhabits lake bottom below 70 m. Feeds on worms (Ref. 4967). Coloration of live fishes is unknown. Dark to blackish coloration of gill filaments and suprabranchial organ is characteristic of this species (Ref. 78218).
