Family:  Characidae (Characins; tetras), subfamily: Stethaprioninae
Max. size:  15 cm TL (male/unsexed)
Environment:  benthopelagic; freshwater
Distribution:  South America: French Guiana (?).
Diagnosis:   
Biology:  Usually captured upstream. Appears to stay in groups, in creeks with alternating zones of rapidly flowing waters with sandy bottoms and calm waters with silty bottoms (Ref. 12225).
IUCN Red List Status: Least Concern (LC); Date assessed: 14 December 2020 Ref. (130435)
Threat to humans:  harmless
