Max. size:  15 cm TL (male/unsexed)
Environment:  bathydemersal; marine; depth range - 590 m
Distribution:  Western Indian Ocean: Kenya to Natal, South Africa.
Diagnosis:  Dorsal spines (total): 0-0; Dorsal soft rays (total): 12-15; Anal spines: 0-0; Anal soft rays: 12-15; Vertebrae: 47-48. Preserved specimens with a dark brown band along flanks; paler ventrally (Ref. 3978).
Biology:  Rare species (Ref. 3978).
