Family:  Pentanchidae (Deepwater catsharks)
Max. size:  70 cm TL (male/unsexed)
Environment:  bathydemersal; marine; depth range 400 - 925 m
Distribution:  Eastern Pacific: Gulf of Panama, Ecuador and central Chile. Also nominally recorded from the northeast Atlantic off Morocco, but identification uncertain.
Diagnosis:   
Biology:  Found on the upper continental slopes. Oviparous (Ref. 50449).
IUCN Red List Status: Least Concern (LC); Date assessed: 07 February 2019 Ref. (130435)
Threat to humans:  harmless
