Family:  Apogonidae (Cardinalfishes), subfamily: Apogoninae
Max. size:  14 cm TL (male/unsexed)
Environment:  demersal; marine; depth range 8 - 15 m
Distribution:  Western Pacific: Brunei, China, the Philippines and Suruga Bay, Japan.
Diagnosis:  Dorsal spines (total): 8-8; Dorsal soft rays (total): 9-9; Anal spines: 2-2; Anal soft rays: 9-9. Description: Characterized by pale reddish brown color to pinkish grey; pair of dark brown bars on side; black spot on middle of caudal peduncle; dark brown anterior edge on first dorsal fin; pelvic fin with white anterior margin with dark brown streak behind; greatest depth of body 2.9-3.0 in SL (Ref. 90102).
Biology:  Solitary or in small groups. Found in silty coastal reefs around rocks and ledges in 8-15 m (Ref 90102).
