Family:  Anablepidae (Four-eyed fishes, onesided livebearers & white-eye), subfamily: Anablepinae
Max. size:  22 cm TL (male/unsexed); 34 cm TL (female)
Environment:  demersal; freshwater; brackish; marine
Distribution:  Central America: Pacific drainages, from southern Mexico to Nicaragua.
Diagnosis:   
Biology:  Occurs in fresh water to full salinity coastal lagoons. Used in eye research.
