Remarks: The disease was recorded in Asia in 1984 (Chen and Jiang) and has a low pathogenicity. Also the reported that it is widespread in the southern regions of mainland China and has cause severe, economicaly devastating losses for the largest aquaculture production in the world and with a reported mortality rates of 50%-70% in yearlings (Mao et al. 1988).
