Comments: Known from Great Lakes and Mississippi River basins in western New York to southeastern Minnesota and south to Louisiana; Gulf drainages west of Mississippi River to Trinity and San Jacinto rivers in Texas (Ref. 86798). Type locality: Sugar Loaf Creek, Sebastian County, Arkansas (Ref. 79012). Common; locally abundant (Ref. 86798). Also Ref. 5723, 10294.
