Radios blandos dorsales (total) : 10 - 11; Radios blandos anales: 2 - 5. Short but high caudal fin. Cone-shaped head. Three pairs of barbels. Body covered by small round scales, no scale on the cheeks. Green gray in the body, yellowish stomach. A prominent black spot in the middle of the origin of caudal fin (Ref. 33389).
Adults inhabit streams on sand and gravel bottom (Ref. 26563). Length type refers to body length, assumed in TL.
