Comments: Known from the tributaries of Gandaki, Koshi and Karnali rivers (Ref. 12045), preferring pool/run areas of rhithron streams (Ref. 57735). Also occurs in Bagmati and Pokhara lakes (Ref. 40948), Madi and Seti rivers (Ref. 85009). Used as ornamental fish by Buddhists (Ref. 12045). Also Ref. 4833, 6351. State of Threat: Conservation dependent and uncommon or lower risk least concern species (Ref. 85009).
