पृष्ठीय रीढ़ (सम्पूर्ण): 12; पृष्ठीय सौफट रेज़ (सम्पूर्ण): 9; गुदा कांटा 3; ऐनल सौफट रेज़: 5. Underside of head with weak dark bars; spinous dorsal normally with dark spot (Ref. 4313). Strong coronal ridges with spine; distinct occipital pit, deepening with age (Ref. 37816).

Inhabits outer intertidal reef flats and shallow lagoon reefs exposed to wave action. Solitary and cryptic (Ref 90102).
