Comments: Known from Western Ghats up to north Canara. Fairly common in the rivers of south Malabar. An important delicacy of Central Travancore, Kerala. Considered endangered in Western Ghats (Ref. 50614). Also Ref. 43628, 43641, 43640, 45211. Status of threat: Vulnerable (Ref. 41236).
