Comments: Known from the upper Ogowe River (Ref. 59344, 103403), Kouilou-Niari River basin (Ref. 59344, 103403) and Loémé River (Ref. 59344). Also known from the Foulakari River, a tributary of the Lower Congo River (Ref. 59344, but wrongly stated as a tributary of Malebo Pool), and from the Léfini-Likouala area (Ref. 103403). Based on the distribution map it is also known from the Djoué River, a tributary of Pool Malebo (Ref. 59344), but this is not confirmed in the text or in Ref. 103403. Also Ref. 3788, 27139, 31267.

Occurs in small forest brooks and rivers, usually moderate to fast-flowing bodies of water under forest cover (Ref. 59344). Not a seasonal killifish. Is very difficult to maintain in aquarium (Ref. 27139).
