Comments: Type locality of the holotype of O. mazimeroensis: 'Burundi: Malagarasi drainage: Mazimero stream at Kabingo, on road Rutana-Kinyinya' (Ref. 28906). Known only from the Mazimero and Nanganga rivers of the upper Malagarasi (Ref. 28906). Also Ref. 98755.

Inhabits clear water rivulets with sandy and stony bottoms; sand, plant debris and algae belonging to Bacillariophyceae, Chlorophyceae and Cyanophyceae found in stomch and gut; mouthbrooder (Ref. 28906).
