Uses: no uses
Comments: Originally known to occur only in Lake Eacham, a circular crater lake situated on the Atherton Tableland in northern Queensland (Ref. 5259). This species was commonly found in Lake Eacham in the 1970s, but became extinct by 1987. Surveys showed that it became extinct in the wild, but recently been found at widespread localities on the Tablelands between the Barron and South Johnstone river systems (Ref. 44894). Recorded from Gwynne Creek near Malanda, Atherton Tablelands in flowing water with boulder and undercut bank habitat (Aland, pers. Comm.). Its extinction may have been due largely to predation by the carnivorous Glossamia aprion. Also Ref. 7300, 3881, 11236, 32711, 75154. Status of threat: Endangered (Ref. 48666).
