Comments: Present in Cape York Peninsula (Ref. 26385). Known from Mulgrave river, Wet Tropics, Northern Queensland (Ref. 40054). Also recorded from Cockatoo creek (Jackson river system) and the Ducie river (both westerly flowing streams) (Ref. 44894).

Facultative air-breathing in the genus (Ref. 126274); Inhabits rivers, creeks, swamps, lakes and ponds. Usually shelters among log debris or undercut banks (Ref. 44894). Occurs in headwaters, often in hilly or mountainous terrain. Found on both rock and mud bottoms.
