Comments: Known from the southern Congo River basin (Ref. 120641) in the Kwango (Ref. 11970) and Kwilu (middle Congo River basin)(Ref. 11970, 95523, 96084) and the rivers Chicapa and Luele in the Kasai drainage (Ref. 11970, 95523). Type locality of the holotype of Hemigrammocharax angolensis: 'poste de Cuílo, Xá-Ua, riv. Luíta' (Ref. 11970). Also Ref. 7094.
