Distribution: Eastern Atlantic: Congo to Namibia. Western Atlantic: 15°N to the Subtropical Convergence (rare in the minimum region off Brazil). Eastern Pacific: near Hawaii. Western Pacific: Japan, New Zealand and Australia (Ref. 7300).
