Remarks | 'fonto' is applied only to the white form of members of this group of species with a long 'moustache' (the black form, locally called 'xunbu-muumuyi' or Hyperopisus bebe has a short one) (Demba Traoré). According to Mamadou Lamine Bathily, this species has very good hearing like that of the duck or the 'cynocéphale' monkey. This is well known by the 'suuxa' (a type of trap) fishers. |
