Remarks Attested in Duhamel du Monceau (1769-1777).
From the Britton "tako". Could come from "tecc-" meaning spot that the species presents between the gill slit and the pectoral fin.
Could be the same origin for "tacon" the juvenile of salmon (ref. 89261).
